If I'm not mistaken, the days are getting longer! I think I even saw the sun for a few days this week.
What do farmers do in the "off-season"?
Well, let me tell you a few things we're been working on.

First, our seedling production is going strong. We've been planting our seeds since January and have lots of beautiful onion, leek, chives, rosemary, mint, oregano, thyme, broccoli, turnip, chard, beet, and even a few tomato plants. Whew!
In addition, we just returned from a fantastic organic farming conference in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. With over 2,000 people in attendance, this conference is the motherlode of all things organic. We learned about extending our growing season, expanding our CSA program, soil biology, and tractor repair. It's also a great time to meet some old friends and make some new ones. Farmers are a pretty fun bunch to be around and we're glad to attend this event.
We're still taking registration for our CSA program, but we're filling up quickly as Spring approaches. You can find all sorts of information on the CSA page of our website. For those of you looking to find our produce at farmer's markets, we plan on being at the Logan Square farmer's market on Sundays starting in June. We'll look forward to seeing you there.
Thank you so much for supporting locally grown and sustainable farming in the Midwest. We are working hard to create a lasting farm of which you can be proud to be a member. If you like what we do, please click here to tell a friend about our farm.
Thanks for your support and eat well!
Farmer Rob
