We are getting real close to putting this farm on solid financial footing. 2014 marks our seventh year farming organic vegetables and we’ve made lots of progress bringing fresh produce to many, many families in the area.
It does not come cheap. We’ve made many investments in equipment to help us farm. Tractors, potato diggers, seeders, and much more.
We’ve invested in a safe food handling facility that is USDA inspected. We’ve built a crew that works hard every single day to seed, plant, water, harvest, and clean vegetables. Our goal is to grow food forever and you are helping us make it happen.
We need to add 100 more CSA shares this season to reach an important milestone on the farm. We can do this. Organic farming takes hard work, as you hear me say all the time. We need your help. If you’ve signed up already, thank you. Please tell a friend, post on facebook, shout it from the rooftop. If you haven’t signed up, please consider our farm. If you have questions, you can call Farmer Rob at any time (how many people do you know can call their own farmer?), at (630) 882-8008. I love to talk about the farm and how our CSA program can help your family eat healthier and protect our natural resources.
Our new custom shares allow our customers to get the produce they want, when they want it. You can take vacation weeks anytime you like. If you want lots of kale, we can do that for you. If you’d rather see nary a leaf, that’s fine too. We have multiple price points that fit the needs of a wide variety of families. Our season stretches from June through Thanksgiving so you’ll have a long season to enjoy fresh produce.
On top of that, you can feel good that your farm donates first quality produce to local food pantries. We prioritize safe food. We grow organically and our farm will be certified in three phases, beginning this season and continuing for the next three years.
So what are you waiting for? Sign up today and make local, organic farming work.
The whole crew at Montalbano Farms hopes you an awesome week!
