It seems like pretty much every day we get a note from someone singing our praises. To be honest, we love it. I share them with the staff and sometimes in the newsletter too. Folks will send us pictures of their dinner (which I haven’t quite gotten used to yet, I must admit) and pictures of their kids and pictures of their gardens too.
The good and plentiful harvests that we’ve had on the farm, however, are not the result of our work slone. It’s a team effort. And you’re on the team too you know. Our success is directly related to your support, your feedback, and your ideas. Moreover, success requires patient cooperation. It has taken over 9 years to get our farm to where it is now. And we have a ways to go to get where we want to be. Your encouragement, your membership in our CSA, and your commitment to organic and local farming make it happen.
We definitely have big plans for the future. Our orchard is growing and should be ready in a few years. We want to plant some more perennials. We could use another greenhouse. We’re trying to do more free workshops and demonstrations. And we’re certainly looking to add new members to our CSA to help us get these things done.
Organic farming is about the long haul. It’s about looking at things the way they are and the way we want them to be. It’s about commitment and dedication. We’re all in this together – it’s the “community” in Community Supported Agriculture.
So thank you for your support. We’ll keep asking you to support our farm for as long as we’re around and we expect to be around for a very long time. We need you and we will work as hard as we can to be there for you year after year.
